Week with Grandma & Grandpa!

It seems to me that last week went by SO quickly. I could have sworn that it was Monday and the next thing I know, it's Saturday night and my body is aching from being out and about. We did get to spend a little time with Jim and Jo, which was so great because we originally thought we wouldn't see them nearly at all! David got to do his first bridal shoot on Friday night and were there until nearly 11 o'clock! It was exhausting, but very rewarding (mostly, thanks to Nate and Kate who were so willing and so patient, and so in love.) The lucky couple is getting married this Saturday so we'll be up and down getting pictures of their big day. Wish us luck! Anyway, I also managed to get some pictures of our time with Grandma and Grandpa. Calvin felt right at home with his grandparents, I would say especially his Grandpa Jim, who he spent a lot of time with sitting on his knee. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but Cal never is very cuddly. But sitting on Grandpa's knee seemed to work just right, because there he was, sitting so contently sucking on his little thumb and cuddling up. It's just not fair, I tell you.

Here are pictures from last week, Enjoy!

↑ He climbs EVERYTHING now. He'll be the next Bear Gryllis, I swear. ↑

↑ Grandma Jo bought Cal a John Deere sweatshirt, I wish you could see it except David's hand is covering it.. Ugh. ↑

↑ Just a quiet moment. ↑

Here a picture taken by accident by Nate who was using the camera on the computer as a mirror for the Bridal/Groomal shoot. You can see everyone in the background preparing for the shoot. Doesn't Kaitlin  just look gorgeous??? I'll also post a finished picture from the shoot. David is so talented at photography. I can hardly stand it.

Trip Kainoa McGlurkin?

Apparently I had a dream about Trip and was talking to him in my sleep. I asked David what I said and he just told me he couldn't understand most of what I'd said... Does that mean he just doesn't want to tell me?

Anyway, I was just wandering through iphoto and found a ton of pictures that I meant to post online, but never have! Some of them are from what seems to be AGES ago. So, sorry for the delay! Here they are:

Work at The Flower Patch

First day at the Flower Patch yesterday and it feels like nothing has changed (except for that I'm working in West Jordan now, not Provo). Valentine's Day preparations are just like I left them. Thankfully for me, my old boss Celia called me for help at her store and I was more than glad to oblige. I have to say I was very happy to walk into that store and already feel like I wasn't really going to work, I was just hanging out with friends, doing what I love, which is to design flowers! Initially, I was terrified that I'd lost all my designing ability in the year that I haven't touched flowers. But I sat down, grabbed my flowers, grabbed my clippers and tied my apron and it was like with every flower I picked up, my ability started to flow back through my fingers. It was AWESOME.

Unfortunately, for the last part of my night, I spent the work day in the downstairs section of the store, making corsage orders for the 6 Valentine's Day dances that are also happening the week of Valentine's Day. In other words, for you who don't really know what it's like, It is absolute chaos. Dances by themselves are a monster. And coupled with the Valentines Day mess is a true nightmare to behold. I LOVE IT. The pace is dizzying, the work is tedious, the customers are a biatch, but there is nothing I love more than getting ready for bed at the end of a day of hard work and washing out the grime from underneath my fingernails and my clothes smell like flower stems. Ah, it's just so wonderful. I am so sad it's only going to last a week.

Sadly, today I may or may not be going in to work. Calvin has been slowly and steadily getting more sick. It all started after I came home and noticed his nose was running and his hands were extra clammy, and extra cold. After about a week, with his cough getting worse and worse, and the crying more frequent, I find myself with no other choice than to take him in to the doctor's office in hopes that they might tell me how to make him better. I feel so bad for Cal. I've been getting up at least twice a night with him this past week making sure he can breathe, and that he's alright. I can just hear him gasping for air between coughs. He can hardly catch his breath! On top of everything, I think he may have an ear infection. Augh! Poor thing. When it rains, it pores. I hope today ends well for me, and ends better for Calvin.

"Everybody Poops"

The title of this song comes from everyone being "poopy" or "pooping everywhere" according to my sister Andrea (the one with the short brown hair and the kazoo). Meaning that people are
being rude. This is a video of my siblings' band, Mama Bear singing "Everybody Poops" and
this is my favorite song of theirs. So watch and enjoy. (Sorry for the bad quality of the video, it was just filmed on my ipod at this very exclusive at home performance.

Calvin the Explorer!

(Click on the pictures to Enlarge!)

↑ Ready for Sunday. (The onesie has a tie stitched on it, SO cute!) ↑

↑ Matching Jammies! ↑

↑ This is David and Cal's quality time. I'll find them just being "Two Hang Out Dudes" as David calls it. ↑

↑ Calvin in his Eskimo suit ↑

↑ The life of a baby is so hard. Sure puts my problems in perspective.. ↑

↑ He had a ninja grip on my nostrils. I kid you not. And don't worry, he was drooling on me the entire time he had me in this grip. TORTURE, I tell you. ↑

New Videos

ere are some videos of Cal (Who else?) playing.

The first video is of him "crawling". It's a little more like launching himself forward on his hands and knees and landing on his belly to get where he wants to go. It works pretty well for him. But we've had to start moving things off the bottom shelves. In the background, my dad is saying "Poor thing, it hurts my stomach to watch him go." But in Spanish, of course.

The second video is of me sneaking up on Calvin in his crib first thing in the morning. He loves to catch us sneaking up on him. He gets a real kick out of it!
