Hang Out Doods Working Together

Do you see this smile? Seriously, what a ham!

Calvin loves his dad. He will jump at the chance to be a helper for David. In this instance, mowing the lawn. Now that we actually have a lawn to take care of, it's been fun to try to make the house our own. Weeding and mowing is pretty tedious work but it's pretty gratifying at the end to sit on the patio and watch Cal and Copper play.

Provo Top Models.

My sister Andrea got a photo shoot done and the photographer wanted the shoot to look high style and kinda edgy. Andrea brought a duffle bag full of different options for the photographer to tell her what to wear and there was also a makeup artist present to make Andi look super fierce (using Tyra words, here.) And I was asked by Andrea to stick around for moral support. Andrea was looking all sorts of hot and the photographer was snapping picture after picture when she turned to me and told me to jump in! Miss Makeup Artiste dabbed a little lip gloss on me and evened out my skin tone (she made my skin look like porcelain!) and I got in some of the pictures.

I have to work on not making my straight face. Mostly because my straight/relaxed face looks like I'm angry. But I think these ones turned out wonderful! Doesn't Andrea look awesome? I come from a good looking family.

↑ I love a daring print! ↑

↑ Aw! She caught us in a laugh! ↑

We're really really really ridiculously good looking.

My brother Ron took this while we were waiting our turn to get our picture taken for family photo times in Indiana.
Pretty good for being just out of a little phone camera right? Kudos, Ron!

Avid Reader

I can usually assume that Calvin's up to trouble when he's too quiet all of a sudden. But
there are other times when I find him being very quiet, I get up to look for him (to hopefully keep him from making too big of a mess) when I discover he's busying himself with a book. We've amassed quite a collection of books. And we've been taking more and more trips to the library to find a variety of books for free when our new book fund is running low.

One of his favorites - The ABCs by Dr. Seuss

Friday the 13th is a lucky day!

It's my baby's birthday!

If you ask him how old he is now, he'll hold up his little fat fingers & tell you that he is "fwee" years old. (That's THREE years old, if you didn't read that right.)

I try not to be a braggy mom but how can I not when he does so many cute things?!

His current favorite things include:
- Spiderman (ask him to show you his Spiderman web shooting hands)
- Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
- Thai rice
- "Somebody That I Used To Know" and this song..  (he knows every single word)
- Big Bear (but who are we kidding? Big Bear is always his favorite)
- David's version of the Three Little Pigs
- Swimming
- Pretending to be a robot ↓ ↓ ↓

David and I agree that he's probably the cutest child in existence (we are a little bit biased..)
And we just love this little guy. Oh so very much.

Skype-ing

D & Cal went out to Indiana just a few days earlier than I did.. Meaning I had the whole house to myself for the week with nobody to come home to or tuck in at night! What's a girl to do?

Which meant a whole lot of Skype.

Seriously, where would I be without the internet?!

Flashback!

Last summer, D & I went up to South Fork in Provo Canyon for a little picnic with my family. Of course, David was taking pictures, but my brother (or as I lovingly refer to him - my "broseph") also had a camera full of some black and white film. It's a little strange to see pictures of myself and D with long hair! It's almost been a year since I cut all my hair off!

↑ D's long hipster locks. ↑

↑ Deep in thoughtful conversation ↑

↑ d'awww! ↑
But from a nerdy photo perspective, check out the grain on this photo. Yep!

↑  Got caught in mid-laugh, ha ha. Derp, derp, derp. ↑

Blast from the past, right?

See? I AM posting some photos! (I'm talking to you, Grandpa Jim!)

We are simply the worst.

The worst at blogging, anyway.

So lately, work has had me on a pretty busy schedule lately so between flowers & Zumba, I am exhausted at the end of the day! We DO have a ton of pictures to post of some recent happenings with Cal & such (thanks to David) but getting to posting them on the blog is another story altogether.

Anyway, so here's the big news:
This week we'll be moving all of our belongings to a new pad!
We will be moving to a house in North Orem this week. Lots of home improvement and all sorts of new things that usually grown ups have to deal with. Which will all be documented as it happens! :)

So sorry for our long absence, there will be hoards of new posts as soon as we get a moment to sit & breathe!

Sometimes I Work With Flowers

Just a little post about some of the things I make at work...

I have tons (seriously, guys. TONS..) of pictures of my floral work and thought I'd just post a few from my first week back at The Flower Patch.

Simple rose bouquet with greens.

A very typical bouquet of the Provo BYU area. Lilies, gerber daisies, poms.

Hydrangea, orchids, Calla Lilies and Stock
With a corset ribbon tie.

What $150 will buy you...

And this is actually a bouquet of a co-worker of mine, Kayleen.
Purple stock, green carnations, green cymbidium orchids, purple crown aster,
and green hypericum.

Just a little headband of white daisies & solid ego as modeled by lovely Kyshel.

Pastel sympathy arrangement.

And now to write a little about Zumba... I have a different blog for more Zumba stuff, but I just have to share this. A friend of mine by the name of Kass Martin (pretty much celebrity status in the Zumba fitness world) was directed by the creator of Zumba himself to choreograph some special songs.
As many of you may know, Zumba is mostly comprised of international rhythms. Samba, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Merengue, Bollywood, etc. But Beto, Zumba's Creator, called on Kass to take care of the music that isn't so international. What we so fondly refer to as "Oldies". She took care of choreographing lots of songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. She taught this class at the Zumba Convention in Florida and decided to have a special workshop here in Utah for her very own Zumba-ites. Also, she encouraged us to dress up for the occasion.

And as any of you who may know me know that if there's an opportunity to dress up...
I will take it.

Bachelorette Treatsies.

Courtney and I threw a Bachelorette Party for Erika not too long ago. Lots ridiculous things said, ridiculous "sexy" games played & even some Carmen Electra dance moves.
Just a few of our treats from that night.

I am drooling just looking at these pictures again...

Puddle Jumper.

Calvin got a cute little blue raincoat from his cousin Joel not too long ago. David and I suspected we may not have a lot of chances to use it since, let's be honest, Utah isn't the most humid of places..

This year's been a different story though. LOTS of extra moisture. The rivers flooding over. And for the first time in years, Utah's legalized "real" fireworks, you know. The kind that you can launch into the air?
It was actually pretty common through most of June for us to start our days off sunny. By early afternoon, it would get overcast, and by evening time, things would get rainy.
So much to our surprise, we had many opportunities to use his raincoat!

This kid is ALL about puddle jumping.
